QUESTION: I'm looking for a freeware program that was available in the 2000's. If memory serves me correctly, you (well, the Hammer Head site) had a link for it a while back. It's this stand-alone program that utilizes the computer keyboard as a nifty, simple sampler... of sorts. The program interface, visually, is a computer keyboard & for every key on the keyboard you can load a sound file (I believe WAV files). The user can even edit pitch, etc on the sound files. every time you press a key, the sample plays. I really miss this program, and I can't find it.... well, the problem is that I can't remember the name of it. Would you possibly know the name of the program so that I might have a better chance of tracking down the software on the internet? thanks so muchBrendan Ryansoundcloud.com/dr-fracksoundcloud.com/kittylitterbiscuit
Anvil Studio, which in freeware version can go nicely with making midi notes from a virtual synth keyboard... But it works better on Windoze, rather then WINe, and it is good coupled with a Sound Compositor, with a Sound Font, that makes it sound like it is awesome... Sound Compositor? Why that's the midi to wav using Sound Fonts, which works better on WinXP (which is now removed from Microsoft dictorialship and support, however trying to pirate this OS, is a big no no, and I suggest using Linux distros instead)... Ahhh I remember the glory daze of using Win98-SE and XP to make my music happen... Then Win7/Win64 came out and distroyed some of the easy DIY studio hacks that I done... Sigh-Oh well, I just stick to good ole Lubuntu anymore... Since I can now use Netflix and my music studio on it and what have you!
