"First I used Tuareg 2.5 FAT, then downloaded TU 1.5 free for scratching, and now I'm completely mad about Moonfish. One of the main advantages of all the software created by Bram Bos is the ability to play with loops, retrigger them in different ways (Moonfish), cut'em to slices and mix/restart/invert these slices (Tuareg 2.5 & 1.5 - VARIATOR tool and Tuareg 1.5 - SCRATCH tool), that no other software has. Now I'm "drowned" in Moonfish retriggering tricks. THANKS, BRAM!!!"

"I have used this program alot over the past few years. I have TUAREG 1 and 2, and in fact, I have the pyrchased version of TU2, but I like to play with this program once in awhile, just to see what kinds of music i can come up with within its 3 channel limitation. I have done alot of techno and hip hop stuff, and I have even recently used it to do modern blues with a country-funk type of groove. Thanks, Beam!"

"The Moonfish is a masterpiece tracker, very efficient for minimal techno & ambient/industrial tracks. Was real happy to find it, simply magic :)"

"I really enjoy this program. It's uses
in complicated electronic genres such
as symphonic, trance, and drum & bass
is severely limited. Still, I have
been able to write a few very kewl
tunes using it. It works the best for
industrial, but would also work ok for
rave, rap, happy hardcore, techno
(especially retro techno), and club
(or minimal trance). I have several
songs that were written in moonfish on
my website
http://mp3.com/introspectivejourn. My
favorite is "Patterns of Thought", but
"Wolfenstien2001" is also good.
I would reccommend downloading lots of
samples and loops to use with this
program. However, there is no in
program media player, so it is a good
idea to preview your samples ahead of
time, and perhaps sort them into
categories. The nice feature of this
program is that your can render a
single pattern to a WAV file. This is
great for making complicated
drumbeats. It is also quite useful for
superimposing a shuffled drumbeat onto
an unshuffled song. There are bugs in
this program, so save often. The
largest bug I've found is that you
CANNOT play all 128 measures of the
song. If you want to write a longer
song, I suggest you use a nice wav
editing program and just split the
song up when you write it, then all
you have to do is put the parts
together in the editor, and presto,
you have a 6 minute song. I reccommend
that if you really like this program,
get The Tuareg, which is really just a
beefed up version of this software.
So, in conclusion, Moonfish is a sweet
program, I love it."

"I enjoy this software and can get some neat tunes out of it. The number of knobs to tweak and a good interface make this software a real groover. I've been able to make some funky minimal techno with The MoonFish."
